Curriculum News:
Reading: Today we began lesson nine. We are continuing to use clues in a text to identify the text structure of sequential order. We will review and understand that sequence is one text structure that authors use to organize text. Our reading selection is a narrative nonfiction for this lesson.
Math: We are continuing to work with decimals in Chapter 5. Today we were adding decimals and by the end of the week, we will be completing the last lesson in the chapter, subtracting decimals. We are preparing to take the Chapter 5 test on Monday, November 23rd. I have observed that our biggest challenge is understanding the word problems, so I have offered extra credit this week. Students who complete the word problem paper can earn up to 10 extra points in saphire. Please encourage your child to complete the extra credit paper, it is due Friday.
