I hope that you are all having a good week! Keep reading to find out about a few of the activities we were working on to stretch our brains and make them stronger!
Reading: Our 5th Grade readers and writers hit the ground running this week! 5th Graders… YOU ROCK!!! We have been reading and analyzing text to figure out what it means to be in a growth mindset versus a fixed mindset. Also, how to shift our mindset from a fixed one to a growth mindset. Plus, we are learning about the eight multiple intelligences that we each have contained in our brain! If your child hasn’t shared their new knowledge with you about these concepts, pick their brain about them!
Spelling: Your child will be receiving their first spelling homework packet next Monday, 9/13. The directions will be gone over, and she/he will have Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night to complete the packet. He/she will be told that the homework packet will be due Thursday morning. Our first spelling test will be taken next Friday,9/17.
Mathematicians are hard at work in our first math unit, place value! Students will bring home their chapter 1 review guide on Tuesday, September 14th, and will take their unit 1 test on Wednesday, September 15th. I am so proud of each and every mathematician!
Have a wonderful rest of your week and a fantastic weekend! Thank you for your support.
