Week of January 10th…

Hello, Martic 5th Grade Families!

We hope that 2022 has started off wonderfully for you and yours! Keep reading to see what’s coming up this week in 5th Grade to stretch and strengthen our brains!

Curriculum News:

Reading with Mrs. Eby:  Our 5th graders recently finished performing their first round of Readers’ Theaters, and they did an outstanding job! Their cooperation and collaboration were wonderful!   Ask your child which “Twisted Fairytale” they took part in.  We will begin working with the five different text structures this week.  I have no doubt that our Fabulous 5th graders will continue to stay in a Growth Mindset!  Way to go!   Miss Miller and I are so proud of you!!!

Spelling: Due to the snow day last Friday, your child will not get a new spelling unit this week on Monday. So, there will not be a spelling homework packet this week. Their spelling test will be this Friday, on last week’s words.

Math with Miss Miller: Fifth graders rocked our seventh unit: patterns and expressions. Mathematicians have solved multi-step expressions using order of operations as well as interpreted the meaning of numerical and geometric patterns. They took their unit 7 test today, 1/7/21, and next week we will be starting our eighth unit: fractions and decimals. Keep up the amazing work fifth graders!

Reminders:

Next Monday, January 17th, and Friday, January 21st: School is not in session

Thank you for your support and have a wonderful week!

Thank you,

Mrs. Eby 🙂
