The PMHS Counselors are committed to fostering a safe and supportive school environment for all students and are able to assist students and families with finding resources to address social and emotional needs.

Please visit the sites below for important information on risks and warning signs of suicide, how we can all work together to provide a supportive environment for students in need, and resources available for students and families. Pennsylvania Adult/Older Adult Suicide Prevention Coalition (PAOASPC) and the Pennsylvania Youth Suicide Prevention Initiative (PAYSPI) have merged to form a new organization called Prevent Suicide PA. Prevent Suicide PA will address suicide prevention across the life span.– Aevidum’s goal is to create positive mental health environments where all students feel accepted, appreciated, acknowledged, and cared for in schools and communities across the nation. The most visited site on the web for information about youth health, behavior, and development. The site offers separate sections for kids, teens, parents, and educators. — contains podcasts and easy to understand information for caregivers. or – AAS is a membership organization for all those involved in suicide prevention and intervention, or touched by suicide.— The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention site is devoted to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education, and advocacy organization focuses on advancing equality for LGBTQ+ Families – has resources and free manual families can download to learn more about common mental health concerns  MTV and the JED Foundation join together to  help students take control of their emotional health in order to improve their moods and get the most out of life.— Many resources on suicide prevention and awareness.  This site has many resources in Spanish as well! ( takes you directly to resources for parents and guardians). –   Informative.  Search “Mental Health Information” for an A-Z list of resources on mental health. Check this site out to learn more about the connection between drug abuse and mental health concerns. – Also search “preventing suicide” a this site to find more valuable information.
