STEM Summer Camp Volunteers Wanted at the Lancaster Science Factory!

Are you interested in science and education? Are you looking for the opportunity to get involved with an activity over the summer? If so, check out the available volunteer opportunities through the Lancaster Science Factory’s summer camps. The camps are geared towards students in kindergarten through 8th grade, and volunteers are needed in the classrooms to assist the instructors. Volunteering is a great way to obtain volunteer hours and work with younger children, especially for those interested in teaching/education! Employment Opportunity for Students Planning to Attend Millersville University

Seniors: Are you planning to attend Millersville University this fall? Are you interested in finding work on campus? If so, the Millersville University Store welcomes applicants to work in the University Store beginning the summer of 2019 and continuing into the fall semester. The position would include duties such as working a cash register, stocking shelves, helping customers, and other tasks. Wages start at $7.25 an hour. Shreiner Tree Care: 2019 Student Internship Program

Seniors: Are you interested in working outdoors after graduating? Does a career in landscaping interest you? If so, make sure to check out Shreiner Tree Care’s 2019 Student Internship Program! Areas of focus will include plant health care, tree pruning, large truck driving, customer service, and much more. Stop down in the counseling office to pick up a flyer!

ABC Keystone Apprenticeship Program

Do you like a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training? Are you interested in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, or sheet metal work, among other trades? If so, make sure to check out the Apprenticeship Program through Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC). Benefits of this program include earning college credits at HACC and receiving a salary! Stop down in the counseling office to pick up a flyer.

Post-Secondary Training Event for Seniors!

What: Representatives from a variety of local businesses, industries, and colleges will provide information about their short-term training and educational opportunities available to students after graduating high school. HACC, CTC, Thaddeus Stevens, and the National Guard are among the participants who plan to attend. This is a great way to learn about your options and introduce yourself to representatives!

Career and Employment Fair for Seniors!

What: Are you interested in entering the workforce after graduating high school? If so, attend our upcoming Career and Employment Fair! Representatives from local businesses and industries will provide information about their summer, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities. High Industries, Tomlinson Bomberger, and Abel Construction are among the companies that plan to attend!

Dual Enrollment Open House at HACC’s Lancaster Campus

Interested in Dual Enrollment options? HACC’s Lancaster campus is offering a Dual Enrollment orientation on April 17th from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm. This is a great way for students and parents to learn more about the educational opportunities available at HACC for Dual Enrollment, as well as meet HACC admissions counselors. Summer Program Opportunity through the Wildlife Leadership Academy!

Are you interested in becoming a wildlife biologist, fisheries manager, wildlife conservation officer, wildlife veterinarian, botanist, outdoor writer, or habitat manager? Would you want to work for organizations such as the Department of Environmental Protection, PA Game Commission, PA Fish and Boat Commission, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Quality Deer Management Association, Trout Unlimited, or Ruffed Grouse Society? If so, consider attending a 5-day residential summer field school program through the Wildlife Leadership Academy! Scholarships are available to help pay for the program, and you should email your school counselor if you are interested.

Extended Deadline to Turn in HACC Experience Day Permission Slips!

Are you a rising junior or senior, been admitted to HACC for fall 2019, an undecided senior, or interested in dual enrollment? If so, make sure to stop down in the high school counseling office to pick up a permission slip for HACC Experience Day, which will take place on Friday, April 12 from 9am-1pm. Completed permission slips can be turned in up until Tuesday, March 26th in the counseling office. This is a great way to explore the programs HACC has to offer, as well as learn about dual enrollment opportunities. Lunch will be provided, and attending this event can be used as the experiential component of your graduation project!
