Dual Enrollment Meeting November 7th, 2023

The Dual Enrollment meeting for students interested in taking courses will be held during Flex on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023. This is for HACC, Millersville, Lancaster Bible College, and PA College of Health Sciences, Elizabethtown, & Messiah College. (Thaddeus Stevens Early Enrollment is a different program, with a meeting October 24th at 5:15 pm) If you want to take dual enrollment in the Spring 2024, you must attend this meeting. Even if you are already in a dual enrollment course.

Recap on College 101 Night

A huge thank you to all the students and families who made College 101 Night such a success! We were delighted to have the event in-person again and appreciated the wealth of information provided by our guest speakers Joni Klopp (Director of Undergraduate Admissions, Millersville University), Kelly Lowery (Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment, West Virginia University), and Valerie Smith (Admissions Counselor, Harrisburg University of Science and Technology).

Career and Technical Center Details for Next School Year

Lancaster County Career and Technical Center. The last two weeks 10th and 11th graders attended an assembly about the CTC options for next year. The tour field trips are coming up in October. Check the counseling blog for details.

The permission slip deadline for 11th graders is October 4th. For 10th graders, the deadline is October 10th. 

11th Grade Tours Permission Slip Deadline Wednesday October 4th, 2023 

Brownstown – Tuesday, October 17th 

  • Depart: 8:15 am

Mount Joy- Wednesday, October 18th

  • Depart: 8:15 am

Willow Street -Thursday, October 19th

  • Depart: 12:10 pm (All students going on this trip MUST EAT LUNCH A)

Applications open online on the CTC Website on November 6th and are due for PMHS on December 22nd (we will announce it when open).

Field Trip: York College of Pennsylvania Health Professions Workshop, 11/8/23

Thinking about a career in Healthcare? Juniors and Seniors, you don’t want to miss this wonderful opportunity at York College of Pennsylvania! There will be an on-campus experiential workshop on Wednesday, November 8th from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Students will first be introduced to the wealth of potential career options in the health professions department, then work with faculty and current students to complete two consecutive workshops based on the students’ interests. The workshop will include a Ted Talk-style presentation from a faculty member, lunch in the dining hall, and a campus tour. Permission slips can be found in the Counseling Office and are due by Tuesday, October 10th.

Reminder: York College of Pennsylvania Field Trip on October 25, 2023

Join us for a wonderful event at York College of Pennsylvania to learn about how these careers impact people’s lives and the programs offered at their School of Behavioral Science and Education. The field trip will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Permission slips can be found in the Gifted and Counseling Offices and are due by Tuesday, October 3rd.

Financial Aid Night – October 24, 2023

Penn Manor High School will host a Financial Aid Night on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 6 p.m. The event will be held in the High School Auditorium and is open to all students in grades 9-12 and their families. Invest in your future and spend an hour on Sunday, September 17, from 5-6 p.m. Eastern time, understanding the requirements and how to prepare for NCAA certification. Construction Career Day

Attention students interested in a career in Construction! There will be an upcoming field trip to the Building Industry Association’s “Construction Career Day” on October 12, 2023 at the Wyndham Lancaster Convention Center. You will have the chance to explore industry careers, learn about residential building, and participate in demonstrations and activities. 

Permission slips can be found in the Counseling Office and are due by September 20th. 

Princeton University Visit this Friday, September 15th

York College of Pennsylvania School of Behavioral Science and Education is hosting a one-day event to learn about how their programs lead to careers that impact people’s lives. The field trip will take place on October 25, 2023 from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm. Permission slips are available in the Counseling Office and Gifted Office (due by October 3, 2023). This is a wonderful opportunity for students interested in a career in Education, Psychology, or Human Services. Open to Juniors as well as Seniors who are undecided about their course of study.
