All Star Code Summer Intensive

All Star Code is a nonprofit computer science organization, founded in 2013,
dedicated to building a sustainable talent pipeline of young men of color
ready to enter, thrive, and lead in the technology industry. They provide web
development and leadership training for our students, throughout their journey
from high school to the workforce.

The flagship 6-week Virtual Summer Intensive coding program teaches high-school men of color concrete web development and leadership skills, that they can use to further their education and their future careers. All Star Code closes the digital divide by providing laptops and hotspots to ensure equity in learning. The Summer Intensive culminates in a flagship Demo Day, where students present original, working digital projects to their families and community. Registration is now open. Deadline is April 7th.

Spring SAT Info for Current Juniors

Each spring the School Counseling Department recommends that Junior’s take the SAT and ACT if students are considering attending a two or four year college or university after high school.  If students are still undecided, that is absolutely fine, it’s recommended that students take the tests to help in their decision making process.

This spring, Penn Manor is offering four different opportunities to take the SAT.  We will offer two Saturday SAT tests on March 11th or June 3rd.  In order to register for these tests you will go onto the College Board website, register and pay through the website to secure your seat.

In addition, we are offering a new pilot program, two opportunities to take the SAT during a school day on March 22nd or April 25th.  For each of these test dates there will be a limited number of seats and students will be able to sign up by submitting payment directly to the School Counseling office.  The opportunity to register will be coming soon!

For any of these opportunities, if you qualify for free or reduced lunch, students are eligible to take the SAT for free with a fee waiver.  If you have any questions, please reach out to the school counselor assigned to your student.

College and Career Readiness Program

The Pennsylvania Masonic Youth Foundation is hosting a College and Career Readiness Program for adults ages 18-23 on June 11th-14th.

There is more than one path that leads to a fulfilling future. Participants will learn to navigate change confidently with a trusted support system. Rather than focus on skill-specific development, this program will emphasize holistic development, participants demonstrate flexibility and resilience in their life path.
