Young People in Physics Opportunity—

The Physics and Astronomy Department at Bucknell University is holding the third annual PA Young Women in Physics Conference. The event will be a day-long conference on Saturday, April 7th for male and female high school students across the state who are interested in a physics education and career path. More information about last year’s conference can be found on our website.
Through this event, we hope to provide Pennsylvania high schoolers with positive female role models in the field of physics in order to eliminate gender inequality in local scientific communities, and to educate students about cutting-edge research and encourage them to pursue physics.
The conference will include several short lectures given by physicists from institutions across the state and an audience-directed panel of the lecturers and graduate students. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
As we are currently organizing conference details, please encourage your students who are interested in attending the PA Young Women in Physics Conference on April 7th to register for free on our website.
Free registration is available here.  A flyer is attached as well.

There is a free summer camp, at Point Park University’s campus, available for qualified sophomore, junior, and senior high school students interested in accounting. The Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) will take place from SUNDAY, JUNE 25 – FRIDAY, JUNE 30.

The goal of ACAP, which is part of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc., is to increase the understanding of accounting career opportunities among high school students in underrepresented minority groups.
